The story until now:

Planet Rock has been broadcasting CLASSIC ROCK MUSIC on DAB (as well as online and via satellite) in the UK for over 8 years.....and, in the process, building up a great audience of over 563,000+ regular listeners (as independently audited by RAJAR statistics organisation).

GCap Media announced on 11th February 2008, that they would close Planet Rock radio station on/by 28th March 2008.

As of today, Planet Rock has NOT closed and is very much still still on-air, and for the time being will continue to offer great music and in-depth features and specials. Where else can you  hear Rush, Iron Maiden, Jethro Tull and Hawkwind amongst our staple diet of Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Pink Floyd and the mighty Led Zeppelin? A buyer MUST be found by 28th March 2008 to SAVE IT.

And who else would allow real musicians, such as Rick Wakeman, Alice Cooper, Tony Iommi, Gary Moore (amongst others) to play their own choice of music whilst airing their experiences and keeping us all informed and entertained.

And let's not forget the fantastic DJ's (and their backroom staff) who are on the air, bringing us the music we like, such as Nicky Horne, Rob Birnie, Mark Jeeves, Nick Abbott, Bernard Doherty and Murray J.

It's pretty obvious to anyone who listens to Planet Rock radio station, that they are unique and satisfy a huge demand from an ever-increasing listener base. It MUST be SAVED.
